August 2010 Minutes

Preisker Gardens HOA Meeting

Meeting called to order at 7:00 pm Tuesday August 10, 2010

Board members in attendance: Ken H. (President), Robert (Vice President), and Suzy (member at large)

Minutes from July were not read.

Items discussed included:

  • We are waiting on the City of Santa Maria to finish working on our streets. We will arrange for the street sealing after that.

  • Ken got a bid to paint the walls on Preisker Lane. The bid was $2800. We will use a standard color so that we can quickly paint over graffiti with the identical color paint.

  • Ken also got a bid on planting 20 non-bearing olive trees in the lawns on Preisker Lane, 10 to the north of the entrance and 10 to the south.

  • The pool bathrooms have been left in a filthy condition almost every week this summer. It this continues, they will be closed permanently. A poster to this effect will be posted and a notice will be left at each residence.

  • Our summer garage sale will be held on August 29 and 30 from 8 am to 2 pm. Flyers will be distributed to each house. The front gate will be left open for this event. It will be advertised in the Santa Maria Times.

  • A resident asked about adding on to his house. He was told that all additions must be approved by the Board and the City of Santa Maria. They must be conform to the existing architecture, including stucco exteriors, paint colors, and tile roofs.

  • Another resident asked about plant a small tree in his front yard. He was advised to call 811 first to have the utilitiy lined marked. This service is provided at no cost to the homeowner.

  • Another resident requested we paint STOP on the roads approaching Cedar Road. Ken will look into the cost of this before the roads are sealed.
